School Profile

Morang South Primary School is a committed and unified partnership of teachers, parents and students. We value diversity and strive for excellence.  We are steadfast in our determination to provide a high quality education in a cooperative, caring and safe environment.  Children are encouraged and challenged to reach their full potential.   Our school values of respect, learning, trust, honesty, tolerance, caring and cooperation are deeply embedded in our practice and code of cooperation. We have a strong and growing reputation for the strategic support and relevant programs we provide for the children and their parents. There is a strong student leadership focus which supports our School Captains, House Captains, School reporter and Photographer, an active Junior School Council and Student Voice teams.

The “Early Years” approach is used comprehensively in years P-4. Teachers in the early and middle years develop targeted programs to meet the needs of children with special abilities and those experiencing difficulties. We have an individual Netbook program in grades 3-6, which provides the students with an opportunity to develop 21st Century learning skills. We utilise a range of strategies and programs to cater for the varied interests of all children. These include Bright Futures programs in Art, Mathematics, Thinking Skills and Literacy. There are active chess and art clubs along with keyboard, singing and guitar programs. Specialist programs are offered in Visual Arts, Performing Arts and Physical Education.  The school has attractive and well maintained grounds with extensive facilities including a well resourced library and a new BER funded Gym and Performing Arts complex.
